Take the Pledge

In recognition of the vital role pollinators play in our ecosystem and the importance of preserving their habitats, I pledge to:

  1. Create a pollinator garden with at least 50% native plants, regardless of its size.

  2. Create a dedicated space to establish the pollinator garden.

  3. Learn about invasive plant species and remove them from your yard, if possible.

  4. Incorporate at least one or two host plants and multiple flowering plants to provide pollinators with options from spring to fall. I will minimize the use of cultivars and non-native species.

  5. Acquire plants for the Pollination Station from trustworthy vendors and nurseries offering native plants grown without insecticides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or any harmful chemicals. Maintain mindfulness in plant selection for the garden and uphold an eco-friendly practice throughout garden maintenance.

  6. Commit to nurturing and maintaining my pollinator garden, including leaving leaves in the fall and providing bare soil for nesting ground insects.

  7. Share information about my pollinator garden with neighbors and the wider community through signage, social media, and engaging conversations.

  8. Advocate for all pollinators and their protection.
