Knights of Columbus Garden Installation
We are excited to add a new garden space at the Knights of Columbus (Fire Station) park in Old Village. Please join us and install native plants to create a lovely pollinator garden for everyone to enjoy. We want to thank Wildflower Association of Michigan (WAM) for selecting our proposal and awarding a grant to make this project possible by funding the plants, garden signs, bird houses and water sources for birds and pollinators. This garden will also become a certified National Wildlife Federation wildlife habitat. Click the image to see more details.
Spring Group Meeting
Plymouth Pollinators Spring Community Group meeting will take place 6:30pm - 7:30 pm, May 8th at the PARC on Adams Street, Plymouth, Room #303. Elevators are on the first floor.
Wild Ones Wayne County members will introduce the brand new chapter and provide information on how to get involved.
We’ll also discuss how to create a pollinator habitat and provide updates about 2024 projects and events and how folks can volunteer.

Earth Day Celebration with the Plymouth Pollinators
Come and celebrate Earth Day with the Plymouth Pollinators on Saturday, April, 20th. We'll be at two locations:
Spring Artisan Market in DTP from 9:00am-3:00pm where we will be providing educational material about pollinators and native plants and will have some seeds and fun swag bags for donations.
Earth Day in the PARC where we’ll have education material as well as some kids activities from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Wilcox Lake Clean Up Spring Event
Join us in Old Village this spring to continue the clean up efforts at Wilcox Lake. We’ll remove invasive trees to increase pollinator habitat, pedestrian safety, and reveal even more of that beautiful lake view.
This event is in collaboration with the Old Village Association, Friends of the Rouge and Wayne County.
Belleville Area Garden Club Talk
The Plymouth Pollinators will talk about the steady decline in the pollinator population and habitat, why pollinators are so important to our ecosystem, and why they need our help. They will also focus on the benefits of incorporating native plants into garden spaces, how to find native plants, and how eager gardeners can prepare their gardens for spring. Non garden club members are invited to attend.
Where: Belleville Area District Library - Fred C Fischer Library at 167 4th Street, Belleville, 48111 in the Cossad room on the main floor.
When: Monday, 7-8:00 pm
Spring Into Action!

Native Plant Sale
What: We are excited to offer our first native plant sale We plan to have the following plants and will be running a series of posts spotlighting each species on our social media pages leading up to the sale - Swamp Milkweed, Butterfly Weed, Slender Mt Mint, Prairie Dropseed, Showy Goldenrod, Smooth Aster, Wild Bergamot, Purple Coneflower, Golden Alexander, Virginia Mountain Mint, Blue Lobelia, White Snakeroot, Buttonbush, Blue Flag Iris.
When and Where: Our sale will be on Saturday 10th September 10am - 4pm, or until supplies last. We will be outside on Adams Street alongside the PARC building.
Why: Did you know that September is a great time to plant? The soil temperate is perfect for root growth to take place before winter which will mean your plants will be bigger and more established by next summer.
Who: Our sale is in partnership with Michiganense Natives, who will kindly donate a significant portion of the proceeds to Plymouth Pollinators to help with our future projects, gardens, and education.

Help us clean up Wilcox Lake on Saturday, June 11 from 9 am to 1 pm. We’ll meet at Point Park at 1140 Starkweather for a brief introduction.
Please bring gloves, safety glasses, hand tools (pruners, loppers and hand saws).

Soft Landings Event
Please join us for our first (ever) volunteer event on Monday, June 6 from 6-7 pm at Lion's Club Park! We will be collaborating with Keep Plymouth Leafy to install "soft landings" gardens around a few of the trees near the pollinator garden.
